Twelve Weeks!

Twelve weeks has never gone so fast!
Our family has had a great week. For Valentine’s Day Glen gave me a necklace that he had made out of our birthstones. He obviously didn’t want to add the sapphire on yet just in case we end up with a second August baby. I ended up getting Glen a gift card to his favorite tattoo shop, which he loved. This past weekend we stayed at my Mom’s house in Bedford to get away from our reality. We arrived Friday night and just hung out and had snacks. On Saturday Mom took me for a much needed pedicure and then she took me to the Bedford Springs to walk around. While we were out exploring, the guys went to a few local guns shops. They both returned with some dried drool in the corners of their mouths.
That night Glen and I got to go to our favorite dinner. I went back and forth on deciding between the bacon wrapped scallops and a crab cake on a portabella. I went for the crab in the end. Then we had sandwiches which seems inappropriate compared to the appetizers but their sandwiches are out of this world! We shared good conversation and dessert! We even discussed some baby names although we are far from making any decisions.
The next day the guys went shooting and we all watched the fluffy snowflakes fall and blanket the ground. It was a really cold but beautiful day. Glen and I even got a chance to nap while we were there which is unheard of. It was such a relaxing trip and I wish it could have lasted a few more days.
Once we got home we were faced with our messy house and piles of laundry again. Since Monday was a Holiday for me, I ended up cleaning the entire house while hanging out with Wyatt. Wyatt was so good and we had a really productive and fun day.
On Monday I arrived to work early then left around 9:30 for my NT ultrasound. These appointments always make me nervous because you have to get counseling first and it puts ideas of “what could go wrong” in your head. It can be very stressful and tense. Seeing my baby just ten minutes later helped ease the stress. There he or she was with a heartbeat of 151bpm. Unlike Wyatt, this baby was not cooperative at all. My last NT scan showed up the gender of Wyatt and he was so perfect and beautiful. This one was the complete opposite. No cute profile pictures with this one and we definitely got no indication of the gender.
I actually feel really good about not knowing the gender because I’m not ready to know. It would put me into overdrive and I would just see a long list of things that needed to be done in our house before the baby comes. Part of me doesn’t want to find out but Glen absolutely refused to do that. However, we might put off finding out until May at our gender reveal photo session to make it extra special. The thought of another baby boy warms my heart. It would give Wyatt a companion and best friend. The thought of a girl and dressing her up in tutu’s and pink makes me smile. I really go back and forth on what I’d rather have but I know I’ll be thrilled either way!

Check out my 11 week bump!

Enjoy some Wyatt photos. He's 18 months old!
